OUR STORY
Three Ten Farms was established in 2013.
The farm is owned and operated by Edward and Pam DeLong, along with help from their daughter and lead farm hand, Madison.
The idea of owning a farm came about after a purchase of 6 baby chicks from our local feedstore. We thought it would be great to have fresh eggs to enjoy and the backyard chickens would give us a hobby to occupy our free time, because we both had so much of that time available.
Well six chickens turned into 13 real fast along with the accidental purchase of Mr. Bogangles the resident rooster who should have been a hen. We had always talked about wanting a place to have a few chickens and maybe some space to spread out. It was in 2014 that we had the opportunity to purchase a 10 acre parcel of land just minutes for our current home. So it was then that Three Ten Farms began to grow and our dreams of owning a farm was becoming a reality.
Pam is a native of Hayesville, NC and graduate of Young Harris College with a degree in Business. She handles the daily operates of Victoria's Attic, our family business located in Hiawassee, Georgia. Edward served as a Hospital Corpsman in the US Navy as a Surgical Technologist. In 1996 Edward, Pam and Madison returned to Towns County after a tour in Bethesda, Maryland and Camp Lejeune, North Carolina to help out in the family business. Since then Edward has persued a career as a Registered Nurse. Madison is able to help out on the farm when she's not attending classes or football games at Georgia Southern University where she is pursuing a career in Nursing......... GO EAGLES !!!!!
How did the farm get the name?
March 10 (Three Ten) is a date that is very special in our lives and the farm holds a very special place in our hearts. So THREE TEN FARMS was born.
